What NeuroJess Offers For Your Investment In Yourself

We believe that you should be able to attend Autism & ADHD Assessments & neurocounseling without worrying about having your privacy neglected and care limited by insurance companies.

Why Private Pay is Your Best Option

Complete Privacy

Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us.

Unlike when working with insurance companies, your personal information stays between us, and will not be shared with third-parties without your consent.

You can be assured that your therapeutic information will always remain confidential.

Avoid Invalidation & Labelling

Insurance companies only cover what they believe is "medically necessary," which typically doesn’t include autism or ADHD diagnoses.

This greatly limits the care you deserve to receive and invalidates your experience.

Insurance companies also require us to provide them with a diagnosis code in order to cover services rendered.

Most people don't want to be "labeled" with a diagnosis, however, when working with insurance companies, there's no way around this.

It's almost impossible to give a fully accurate diagnosis after seeing you for one time, any how.

By utilizing private pay, we don't need to put you "in a box" by labeling you with a specific diagnosis.

We always allow you the choice of whether or not you would like any diagnoses shared or listed in your chart.

Control Your Treatment

Insurance companies will dictate the amount of sessions that you are allowed and how long your sessions will be.

Most of the time, it's hard to work through complex human emotions and create positive change in such a short period of time.

With private pay, you can determine how long your sessions will be and how often you want to attend sessions.

This helps you reduce the stress and worry of potential limitations to your treatment and gives you more freedom and control of your brain health.

You do not have to do this alone!

Please note that by choosing to receive superbills, you are opting to release your private information to your insurance company. You also understand that we are still required to list a diagnosis for services to be considered for potential reimbursement. Private pay without superbills will always be the most confidential and non-limiting option for your treatment.

If you're questioning if you are Autistic or ADHD, having a neurodiversity assessment can bring you the validation and peace of mind that you are looking for.

Our goal is to collaborate with you, leading with your lived experience, working together as co-searchers for the truth. Our industry leading clinicians utilize their clinical experience, from a neurodiversity informed lens, identifying signs and traits of females who are Autistic and/or ADHD, and will help guide you through various screening measures, and tools developed by our specialists, that will help you understand neurodivergence and possible diagnoses.

Autism and ADHD are two of the most underdiagnosed neurotypes in women. It's our mission to help you understand that you are not alone on your journey.

Our lead neurodivergence specialist Jess Pliszka says, "As a professional woman who is autistic and ADHD, I not only have specialized clinical experience about female neurodivergence, but I also have lived experience. This combination allows me to understand you on a deeper level and provide you with the most accurate clinical interpretation possible."

We prioritize your experience over measures and tests, taking a client-centered and neurodiversity-affirming approach.

The medical field has been harmful and ableist towards neurodivergent people, especially autistic individuals. Unlike most psychologists, we don't believe in solely relying on biased and outdated tests and measures to try to fit you into a box.

We believe in the importance of questioning current methods of engaging with the autistic experience, such as the utilization of oppressive assessment tools and ignoring of neurodivergent experiences. We aim to change the current system and implement more client-focused, neuroaffirming practices by prioritizing the voices of our neurodivergent clients for more equitable and inclusive practices.

Your experience matters most, and we will work collaboratively, using your lived experience to determine which diagnostic criterion best aligns with your background.

After the assessments, we will be able to tell you whether or not you meet DSM-5-TR criteria for ASD and/or ADHD.

It is also our goal to make our Autism and ADHD assessments more accessible to neurodivergent women and AFAB who are seeking diagnoses for validation purposes. So, unlike traditional neurotypically-biased neuropsychological testing that typically costs between $5,500 to $8,000, we offer more affordable neurodiversity-informed assessment services.

Assessments are only available to individuals physically located within the state of Wisconsin at the time of sessions.

All assessments are provided via telehealth through a secure, HIPAA Compliant video conference platform.

Please note that we do not offer out-of-network billing, claims, or superbills for assessment services.

*Disclaimers:

  • Our assessment services are not considered neuropsychological testing or psychometric evaluations. Assessments are conducted by a board certified (NCC), licensed professional counselor (LPC).
  • Please note that your assigned diagnoses may not be recognized for medication prescription purposes.

Our Mission In Our Community...

Is to help increase knowledge and acceptance
of female autism and ADHD

Neurodivergent women and AFAB are among the most misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed people.

Most doctors and mental health professionals are uninformed about female presentations of autism and ADHD, leading to misdiagnoses and invalidation of concerns.

Receiving an improper diagnosis or having your concerns be brushed off can be detrimental to your wellbeing and lead to an increased insecurity of self.

You deserve to finally understand and accept yourself for who you are

without others trying to fit you into a box you don't belong in.
