If you're questioning if you are Autistic or ADHD, having a neurodiversity assessment can bring you the validation and peace of mind that you are looking for.

Our goal is to collaborate with you, leading with your lived experience, working together as co-searchers for the truth. Our clinicians utilize their clinical experience, from a neurodiversity informed lens, identifying signs and traits of females who are Autistic and/or ADHD, and will help guide you through various screening measures, and tools developed by our specialists, that will help you understand neurodivergence and possible diagnoses.

Autism and ADHD are two of the most underdiagnosed neurotypes in women. It's our mission to help you understand that you are not alone on your journey.

Our lead neurodivergence specialist Jess Pliszka says, "As a professional woman who is autistic and ADHD, I not only have specialized clinical experience about female neurodivergence, but I also have lived experience. This combination allows me to understand you on a deeper level and provide you with the most accurate clinical interpretation possible."

We prioritize your experience over measures and tests, taking a client-centered and neurodiversity-affirming approach.

The medical field has been harmful and ableist towards neurodivergent people, especially autistic individuals. Unlike most psychologists, we don't believe in solely relying on biased and outdated tests and measures to try to fit you into a box.

We believe in the importance of questioning current methods of engaging with the autistic experience, such as the utilization of oppressive assessment tools and ignoring of neurodivergent experiences. We aim to change the current system and implement more client-focused, neuroaffirming practices by prioritizing the voices of our neurodivergent clients for more equitable and inclusive practices.

Your experience matters most, and we will work collaboratively, using your lived experience to determine which diagnostic criterion best aligns with your background.

After the assessments, we will be able to tell you whether or not you meet DSM-5-TR criteria for ASD and/or ADHD.

It is also our goal to make our Autism and ADHD assessments more accessible to neurodivergent women and AFAB who are seeking diagnoses for validation purposes. So, unlike traditional neurotypically-biased neuropsychological testing that typically costs between $2,500 to $4,000, we offer more affordable neurodiversity-informed assessment services.

Assessments are only available to individuals physically located within the state of Wisconsin at the time of sessions.

All assessments are provided via telehealth through a secure, HIPAA Compliant video conference platform.

Please note that we do not offer out-of-network billing, claims, or superbills for assessment services.

*Disclaimers:

  • Our assessment services are not considered neuropsychological testing or psychometric evaluations. Assessments are conducted by a board certified (NCC), licensed professional counselor (LPC).
  • Please note that your assigned diagnoses may not be recognized for medication prescription purposes.

Online Neurocounseling Allows Us To Meet You At Your Home, Office Or Where You Feel Most Comfortable!

Online Neurocounseling

Online Neurocounseling Allows Us To Meet You At Your
Home, Office, or Where You Feel Most Comfortable!

Your brain health is important,
no matter where you are or
what you're doing.

Virtual neurocounseling (or online therapy) allows you to attend your neurocounseling session from the comfort of your own home or private space via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video meeting program, telephone call, or chat platform. (That means we keep things private for you) .

CLICK, RELAXCHAT!

  • STEP ONE: Video or chat sessions can be joined via your computer, smartphone, or your tablet with a secure and strong internet connection
  • STEP TWO: Find a spot where you have privacy. This can be at home, in your bed, office, living room, or anywhere, private with a good internet connection.
  • STEP THREE: We'll send you a link for our video or chat neurocounseling session and all you have to do is Click, Relax & Chat!

You do NOT need to be tech-savvy to
attend online neurocounseling.

Why Virtual Neurocounseling is More Effective Than In-Person Neurocounseling:

  • Provides more convenience when you're short on time.
  • You don’t have to worry about traffic, travel, or bad weather conditions.
  • Incur fewer therapy-associated expenses when you don’t have to travel to receive treatment or pay for child care.
  • No worry about contracting illness being exposed to illness (if you're feeling sick you can still join our therapy session).
  • Helps you avoid regression and make progression (by attending sessions regularly).
  • Provides additional comfort being in a familiar, safe, and comfortable environment, which allows you to open up more about your challenges, thereby improving your overall treatment.
  • Enjoy the benefits of convenience, flexibility, and real-time care by your neuropsychotherapist.

What is a neurodivergence specialist?

How is a specialist different than a general counselor or therapist?

If you severely broke your leg and needed complex surgery, who would you rather see: your general doctor, or an orthopedic surgeon who knows everything about your injury and can offer you the best options possible?

You'd pick the orthopedic specialist, right?

This analogy works when we speak about specialists vs general counselors in the mental health field, as well.

General counselors or therapists don't have one specialty, but instead try to help you with any and all concerns you may have.

You likely will have less structured sessions, and will spend more time "just talking" about whatever concerns you may have that week; this is the traditional "talk therapy" approach.

A neurodivergence specialist, or neuropsychotherapist, on the other hand, has expertise and great knowledge about neurodivergence,

and will be able to offer you psychoeducation on how and why your brain works the way it does, with structured, action-oriented sessions allowing you to learn about yourself and healthy coping skills, as well.

If you're really lucky, you'll get a neurodivergence therapist who is also neurodivergent (like Jess) who can understand you on an even deeper level.

While most neurodivergence specialists work with just about anyone, there is only one neurodivergence specialist who has expertise specifically in autism and ADHD in high-performing women, and that is Jess Pliszka.

Non-Discrimination & Inclusivity

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our clients and clinicians is our top priority.

We practice from an anti-racist, feminist, neurodivergent-affirming, and queer-affirming lens. We reject discriminatory beliefs and worldviews that cause harm to people of marginalized identities.

As a clinician, we reserve the right to feel safe in the therapy space, and not be exposed to hate speech as a part of our job, especially when we are part of marginalized communities ourselves.

If a client does engage in prejudicial opinions, we reserve the right to terminate the therapeutic relationship and recommend treatment elsewhere if a client holds beliefs that are irreconcilable with this stance, as we understand that we may not be the best therapeutic fit for you to work with.

It's time to put your needs, first.

Start living the life you deserve to be living!

You are free to schedule your initial consultation, below.

We hear you, and we're here for you.
