Nice to meet you,
I'm Jess, Founder of NeuroJess.

Jess's Purpose As
Your Clinician:

My purpose is to help you step out of your "mask" and live your life as your true, authentic self. I will help you understand how your brain works on a cellular level, which will allow you to accept your neurodivergent traits while altering maladaptive thoughts and behaviors that are interfering with your growth and ultimate potential.

As a board-certified, licensed professional counselor and  neuropsychotherapist,

I work collaboratively with you and believe you deserve to be genuinely heard and understood because I know undoubtedly that nothing will ever be as valuable as your lived experience in our work together. You know yourself best, and together we will not only help you grow into your best neurodivergent self, but we will determine which diagnostic criterion you fit best into so that you can feel validated and understood.

Through a neurodiversity-affirming approach, I will help you learn how to be your true authentic self, without masking and changing who you are to "fit in" to society.

As an autistic & ADHD person myself, I understand and connect with you on a deeper level. You are not alone, and it's my mission to ensure you feel accepted, seen, and supported.

As the leading specialist for high-performing Autistic & ADHD women, and AuDHD person myself,

I understand how difficult and frustrating it is to receive an accurate Autism or ADHD diagnosis. Unlike most psychologists, I don't believe in solely relying on biased and outdated tests and measures to diagnose you or try to fit you into a box. Your experience matters most, and we will work collaboratively, using your lived experience to determine the best diagnosis for you.

And unlike most therapists who try to change your autistic or ADHD traits, I affirm your neurodivergence and encourage you to live as your authentic self, deconstructing negative self- or societal-imposed limitations and expectations. Together, we will identify your neurodivergent traits and you will learn how to embrace your uniqueness, while working with your brain, instead of working against it.

My approach is empathetic, collaborative, & direct. I look forward to joining you on your journey of acceptance, ambition, & authenticity!

Testimonials from our professional collegues

Our Mission In Our Community...

Is to help increase knowledge and acceptance of female autism and ADHD:

Neurodivergent women and AFAB are among the most misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed people.

Most doctors and mental health professionals are uninformed about female presentations of autism and ADHD, especially those who are high-performing and have low support needs, leading to misdiagnoses and invalidation of concerns.

Receiving an improper diagnosis or having your concerns be brushed off can be detrimental to your wellbeing and lead to an increased insecurity of self.

You deserve to finally understand and accept yourself for who you are

without others trying to fit you into a box you don't belong in.

What is a neurodivergence specialist?

How is a specialist different than a general counselor or therapist?

If you severely broke your leg and needed complex surgery, who would you rather see: your general doctor, or an orthopedic surgeon who knows everything about your injury and can offer you the best options possible?

You'd pick the orthopedic specialist, right?

This analogy works when we speak about specialists vs general counselors in the mental health field, as well.

General counselors or therapists don't have one specialty, but instead try to help you with any and all concerns you may have.

You likely will have less structured sessions, and will spend more time "just talking" about whatever concerns you may have that week; this is the traditional "talk therapy" approach.

A neurodivergence specialist, or neuropsychotherapist, on the other hand, has expertise and great knowledge about neurodivergence,

and will be able to offer you psychoeducation on how and why your brain works the way it does, with structured, action-oriented sessions allowing you to learn about yourself and healthy coping skills, as well.

If you're really lucky, you'll get a neurodivergence therapist who is also neurodivergent (like Jess) who can understand you on an even deeper level.

While most neurodivergence specialists work with just about anyone, there is only one neurodivergence specialist who has expertise specifically in autism and ADHD in high-performing women, and that is Jess Pliszka.

It's time to put your needs, first.

Start living the life you deserve to be living!

We hear you, and
we're here for you.
